OVERVIEW

We were commissioned to carry out a full interior transformation of a beautiful property in New Mill, working in collaboration with a local architect. The scope included extensive internal alterations including a new floor to create a home office, custom-designed interiors, and premium finishes tailored to the client’s lifestyle. Every element—from architectural details to soft furnishings, was carefully considered and executed by our in-house team.

SCOPE OF WORKS

Bespoke Interiors & Living Spaces

• Design, manufacture and installation of a timeless and contemporary kitchen
• Stylish yet highly practical utility room
• Bespoke living room media unit with integrated ceiling lighting
• Custom boot room with functional layout and durable materials
• Fully fitted luxury home gym and tailored en-suite
• Walk-in wardrobe design and installation
• Bespoke designed ensuite to upgrade the master suite
• Luxury ‘loo’ –  bespoke designed wc area
• Luxury staircase upgrade with custom polish finishes
• Dedicated dog shower area, built with both style and practicality in mind

Structural & System Upgrades

• Full rewiring and electrical upgrades
• Installation of underfloor heating across the ground floor
• Flooring throughout including tiling, luxury vinyl tile (LVT), and carpets
• Complete redecoration and final finishing

Staircase redesign and conversion

• Creation of a bright, elevated office space with a glass wall at the top of the stairs
• Installation of new, energy-efficient windows and doors
• Restoration of existing oak framework, complemented by Accoya cladding

CHALLENGES

This project required balancing contemporary design with the practical needs of a busy household. The reconfiguration of internal spaces—including the staircase conversion and addition of a dog shower—demanded smart space planning and craftsmanship. Coordination across multiple trades ensured seamless execution and minimal disruption to the property’s existing features.

OUTCOME

The finished home delivers a highly personalised living environment with thoughtfully planned spaces and striking interior design. Custom joinery and specialist finishes elevate the property’s character, while functional elements like the utility room, dog shower, and home office ensure it meets the daily demands of modern family life.

We used Smithson & Littlewood to completely renovate our new home in New Mill, Holmfirth.  We completed the purchase on Friday and they started the day after which was fantastic!
